I worked with a large corporate recruitment company for 12 years, joining as Consultant before being promoted through the ranks to Regional Manager with responsibility for 8 branches in London and the South East. The natural progression was to Head Office, where I was awarded a strategic Marketing role on the basis of my field-based success. Although a great experience, I soon began to find the role much less fulfilling than the day to day involvement I had always enjoyed, so in 1988 I made the decision to leave and start my own business.
My aim was then and still is, to make long-term matches with a clear focus on a quality, rather than quantity-driven process. I was very keen that the candidate experience should be as positive as that of the client, and that our responsibility was as much about adding value as it was filling roles.
Now, well over 25 years later, I am delighted to see that vision continue to be appreciated by candidates and clients throughout the Thames Valley. Without it I know I wouldn’t have such a talented team around me – delivering the level of service we have become renowned for.
